Amazon AppStream 2.0 for students and faculty. AppStream 2.0 lets students access the applications they need on any computer, whether they’re in the classroom, the library, a cafe, or at home. It connects to Active Directory, network, cloud storage, and file shares. Users access applications using their existing credentials. Pay-as-you-go pricing. Is this not useful for some clients?

Amazon Chime lets you meet, chat, and place business phone calls with a single, secure application from anywhere. You don’t need to switch between applications to collaborate and can instantly go from a chat to a call, share your screen, and even invite more people to join your meeting.

Google has announced that Hangouts Meet premium video-conferencing will be free to all G Suite users, through September 30, 2020.

If you have a G Suite for Education account: Google Classroom, a popular platform with schools, will help your teachers post assignments, reading materials, and even record their lectures.

Eric Yuan, founder of Zoom video-conferencing wrote in his blog: “Zoom is doing everything to provide resources & support to those navigating the coronavirus outbreak”. ”With a free Zoom Meetings licenses, users will have access to audio & video conferencing, as well as group collaboration”.

Microsoft made the premium version of Teams Collaboration free for Office365 users AND for users with Gmail or Outlook email addresses. The Premium Version includes unlimited Chat, built-in group and one-on-one Audio or Video calling, and real-time collaboration with Office apps for web, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. 

Cisco has expanded the list of features available as part of its free WebEx offer; the additional features include: Unlimited usage, support for up-to 100 participants, and toll dial-in (in addition to existing VoIP capabilities).

LogMeIn is making its GoToMeeting product free to educational institutions, municipalities and non-profit organizations for three months.

Khan Academy can be used for remote learning: “Instructional videos on how to learn or review material, exercises, quizzes, and tests give students the opportunity to practice and master skills.

Coursera and edX  – massive open online course companies – offer free access to courses.

Kahoot! grants schools free access to their Premium distance learning tools, allowing teachers to host game-based learning sessions via video conferencing as well as assigning self-paced games  for homework.
